Did you know that it is common Chinese tradition to celebrate a baby’s 100 day birthday?
In fact, for many Chinese families, babies are discouraged from going outside until the 100th day and as a result, the occasion is highly symbolic and calls for a big celebration!
We were excited to host baby Ashley's 100 day birthday at STUDIO recently, a beautiful and lavish party with over 90 guests in attendance.
To celebrate the joyful occasion, STUDIO was transformed into an elegant but vibrant space, filled with fresh flowers, balloons and decorations in pretty pops of pink and champagne gold.
The room was drenched with sunshine thanks to our floor-to-ceiling windows, which offered all guests unrivalled views of Sydney harbour and beyond, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable birthday celebration.
Whilst the space looked utterly magical, the culinary spread for the event was also nothing short of spectacular.
Upon arrival, guests indulged on freshly shucked rock and pacific oysters as well as peeled crystal bay king prawns at our dedicated Oyster & Prawn Bar, along with prosciutto, cheese and olives at our Antipasto Station.
This was followed by seven rounds of delectable canapés, which included scallop crudo, wasabi prawn, king crab, salt cod croquettes, chicken shitake rice balls, chicken lollipops and mushroom risotto.
Guests then feasted on a shared banquet lunch, featuring some of Head Chef, Elton Inglis’ signature dishes, like seared scallops and crispy pork belly.
On the whole, it was truly a spectacular party to celebrate Ashley’s 100 day birthday!
